Make a Splash at Color the River!

It’s that time of the year again – it’s Color the River season!
For the 5th time, Color the River is back! The event, hosted by
Hinton’s Second Saturdays, will take place on Saturday, June 11th
with registration beginning at 9 a.m. at Berry’s Campground. Take
some time to relax and join the community on the largest float
down the Greenbrier River. Bring your tubes and kayaks or rent
them to participate in a fun and exciting adventure!
Community is a big part of why Color the River was created.
Being a connected community does bring some challenges and
hardships, however. Cancer has impacted a lot of our community
member’s lives. With Color the River, the earnings that the event
makes each year goes towards helping the friends and families of
those who have been impacted by cancer. Supporting our fellow
community members by floating down one of our most famous
natural landmarks brings us all closer together.

Color the River is free for all who would like to participate, with
exceptions of parking at $5.00 and any rentals purchased before
the float. Shuttle service will be provided for $5.00 per person. You
can also purchase a commemorative Color the River t-shirt for $20.00!
All proceeds will be used to aid the families affected by cancer in the
Summers County community.
Following the event, local favorite The Stacey Carroll Project will be performing
live on the Courthouse lawn! Enjoy a float down the river and live
music this Saturday!
